MEET DR. TEMESGEN

Dr. Netsanet Temesgen is a native Austinite. Born to an Ethiopian father and American mother, Dr. Temesgen has a true appreciation for cultural diversity and travel. Her love for travel carried her to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2003.

While attending dental school in Michigan, Dr. Temesgen was one of only 33 students in the U.S. to be recognized as a National Health Service Corp Scholar. This scholarship was an honor not only because of the organization’s elite status, but also because it recognized kind and caring providers with a passion for treating the underserved as well as the privileged. From the first time you speak with Dr. Temesgen, you’ll notice her compassionate nature and cheerful personality.

Dr. Temesgen’s commitment as a scholar led her to Oklahoma after graduating from dental school, where she spent the next two years serving the underprivileged communities of Tulsa and Nowata. After learning and growing much from her experiences there, she returned to Austin to get married and start a family.

Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Temesgen holds her greatest as that of a wife and mother. Her family is top priority and she understands the important roles trust, honesty, communication, education, and support play in the foundation of secure relationships. Her dedication to these values and the relationships she develops with her patients help to set her apart. She takes pride in being a doctor you can count on and trust.

Dr. Temesgen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Christian Dental Society, and she listed in the Cambridge Who’s Who.

Shawn

Shawn has been a member of our team since our grand opening in November 2007 and brings with her 15 years of dental experience. She chose to pursue a career in the dental field after undergoing orthodontic treatment and experiencing the impact it made on her life. (Thanks, Dr. Nelson!) A member of the American Dental Office Manager Association, she enjoys changing lives through dentistry.

Shawn is married with two children. In her free time, she enjoys watching sports, reading, spending time with her family, and dancing. Her favorite teams are the Yankees, Colts, Red Wings, and the Sooners.

Janet

Janet graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 1994 with a 4.0. She feels her greatest strength is her ability to put her patients at ease with her friendly personality. She loves being the mother of two beautiful girls and an adorable son. In her spare time Janet enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her family, and being our office’s soccer star.

Lindsay

Lindsay comes to us from Midland, TX. She loves Austin and all of the fun it has to offer. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with friends. She is a self-proclaimed "People Person,” and says she’s never met a stranger. Lindsay is also the resident Red Raider. GO TECH!

Chanel

Chanel, a recent graduate of Allied Health Careers, joined our team in July 2008. An aspiring Dental Hygienist, she assists Dr. Temesgen, keeps the team laughing, and can’t resist a good prank.

When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, Brooklyn.
